Family Safari Day for Children with Cerebral Palsy

Creating Joyful, Inclusive Adventures for Families
At JT Foundation, we believe every child deserves the chance to experience joy, adventure, and a connection with nature—regardless of ability. That’s why we’re thrilled to introduce our Family Safari Day, a special outing designed for families of children with cerebral palsy in Greater Manchester.

What Is Family Safari Day?

Family Safari Day is a fully funded, accessible day trip to Knowsley Safari Park. Our goal is to remove barriers and provide a supportive, memorable experience for families who may otherwise find such outings challenging.

What the Day Involves

Free entry to Knowsley Safari Park for the whole family

Accessible transport from Greater Manchester, with a JT Foundation driver and support worker available as needed

A welcoming, inclusive environment tailored to the needs of children with cerebral palsy

Who can join?

Families in Greater Manchester with a child diagnosed with cerebral palsy.

Priority will be given to families who may not otherwise have the means or opportunity to enjoy such experiences.

Making Play Truly Inclusive: Wheelchair Accessible Swings for Every Child

At Jt Foundation, we are passionate about creating opportunities for children with cerebral palsy in Greater Manchester. We believe that every child, regardless of mobility, should experience the joy and freedom of playing in their local park.

Our Flagship Campaign: Making Every Park Accessible

Manchester has 198 community parks, yet many remain inaccessible for children who use wheelchairs. Our flagship campaign is committed to changing this by installing wheelchair accessible swings in every park, ensuring that all children can experience the freedom and joy of play.

What Makes a Swing Wheelchair Accessible?

Wheelchair accessible swings are designed with inclusion and safety at their core. They include:

Stable, secure platforms to accommodate wheelchairs

Easy-access ramps or transfer points for smooth entry and exit

Robust safety features to protect every child while they play

Why Inclusive Play Matters

Play is crucial for every child’s development. It builds confidence, fosters friendships, and supports both physical and emotional well-being. By providing wheelchair accessible swings, we make sure children with cerebral palsy can:

Play alongside their peers

Feel welcomed and included in their community

Enjoy the same opportunities for fun and growth

How You Can Support

Your involvement is essential to making this vision a reality. You can:

Donate to help fund the installation of accessible swings

Share our campaign to raise awareness and inspire others to join us

Together, we can create a more inclusive Manchester—one accessible swing at a time. Join Jt Foundation in making play possible for every child in a wheelchair.
